Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again have seemingly reached a stalemate in screen sharing. Both movies are hitting the big screen on Diwali 2024, and are looking to book the majority of screens to ensure better business. As per reports, the distributor of the Kartik Aaryan starrer is taking extreme steps to acquire more screens.
Anil Thadani seeks help of ‘Pushpa’ in screen war with Singham Again
Anil Thadani is the distributor of Bhool Bulaiyaa 3. He is also the Hindi distributor of Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2 which will hit the big screens on December 5. He is leveraging this to his benefit by offering a unique deal to the film exhibitors.
As per reports by Pinkvilla, Anil Thadani has offered select exhibitors a 30ft cutout of Allu Arjun as his character Pushpa Raj to be installed for free in the theatres. A source told the publication, “The exhibitors who are agreeing on equal showcasing terms or better, are being offered a free 30 Ft. cutout of Allu Arjun as Pushpa, to be put outside their properties. The charges of cut out and standees are usually borne by the exhibitors, but in an exceptional scenario, the distributors are making the deal sweeter for the exhibition community." However, there is no official confirmation of the report yet. The news of the Pushpa 2 cutout being used for the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 exhibition has amused netizens. Social media users have claimed that the Bollywood movies have to resort to South films to boost business.
What is the screen war between Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singh Again?
As per reports, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 makers have objected to unfair trade practices by Rohit Shetty's team. It is being reported that the Singham Again makers are looking to demand a 60:40 screen split at multiplexes in their favour and a staggering 72:25 in single screens. T-Series has reportedly moved to the Complaint Council demanding a 50:50 distribution of screens.
This stalemate is most likely the reason behind advanced bookings of the films not being open yet. Both the movies are clashing at the box office which will lead to inevitable loss in business for both. However, makers of both projects have refused to bow out from the clash and are pinning their hopes on an extended Diwali holiday for cinemagoers to embrace both Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
