Smita Patil: Prateik Babbar's emotional post on the actor's birthday

Prateik's wish for mother Smita Patil

On the occasion of Smita Patil's 64th birth anniversary, her son Prateik Babbar wished her with an adorable post. He shared a gorgeous black and white picture of Smita Patil on his social media handle.

In the photo shared by the actor, Smita is seen posing in a furry dress. She looked absolutely gorgeous in that throwback picture. He captioned the picture as “happy birthday to my gorgeous lady”.  Prateik has always been vocal about his feelings towards his mother. He has often talked about how his mother's life has been always a guiding light for him.

Later, he posted another picture of Smita Patil. The picture was a still shot from one of her songs. The still shot depicts her with an expression of grief and in tears. Prateik captioned the picture as “do not breathe... what people will think” ~ Smita Patil (1955-1986) rest in power.

Smita Patil died on December 13, 1986. At the age of 31, she faced an untimely death due to childbirth complications. During her career in Bollywood, she received two National Film Awards and a Filmfare Award. She was also the recipient of the Padma Shri Award, India’s fourth-highest civilian honour, in the year 1985. Over ten of her films were released after her demise.

Her son, Prateik Babbar was last seen in Mitron, Baaghi 2 and Chhichhore. He will next be seen in movies like ‘Brahmastra’, ‘Darbar’ and ‘Mumbai Saga’.
