Sona Mohapatra in a recent Instagram post extended an invite to pop sensations, Katy Perry and Dua Lipa. The singer addressed both the singers and asked them if they would like to meet any singers and music makers from India during their visit. She wrote, "Dear @katyperry & @dualipa, Would you not have liked to hang out, speak music & learn a bit more about our glorious musical traditions with the real Rockstars & Music Makers of India?" (sic)

Sona Mohapatra is one of Bollywood's most underrated singers. She hails from the state of Odisha and was born in the city of Cuttack. Sona Mohapatra has performed in concerts across the world and has also featured in albums, singles, concert webcasts, music videos, and advertisements, besides Bollywood movies. Sona Mohapatra is married to music composer Ram Sampath, who is best known for composing the soundtrack of the 2011 comic-caper, Delhi Belly, produced by Aamir Khan.
Meanwhile, the singer made headlines shortly after Anu Malik released a statement on the sexual allegations against him by singer Neha Bhasin, Shweta Pandit, and other women, Sona Mohapatra responded to his letter. Sona Mohapatra has been one of the major names to have named Anu Malik in the #MeToo movement last October. Recently, she lashed out at the makers of Indian Idol 11, which Anu Malik recently joined as a judge, forgetting the veteran on board. Neha Bhasin too opened up, a few days ago, on her experience with Anu Malik when she was 21 years old. "Responding to your letter of last night which is posted on my timeline too. You were waiting for the ‘truth’ to the surface you said? The only ‘truths’ that have surfaced after I called you out last year is that many more women have told their stories of sexual harassment, assault experiences with you", read an excerpt from her statement
