Singer Sona Mohapatra took to her Twitter handle and questioned cricketer Sachin Tendulkar after he praised some young contestants on Sony TV's 'Indian Idol' show. Sona addressed Tendulkar in a tweet and asked him if he was aware of all the #MeToo stories of multiple women against the judge of the same show — Anu Malik? For those unaware, Sona Mohapatra had earlier called out the channel for hiring back Anu Malik as a judge on the singing reality show post #MeToo allegations against him. Below is the tweet -

Sona's open letter addressing the channel - 

Sona penned a letter and wrote: "I have known the spunky,driven & talented  @nehabhasin4u
 since her Viva days & know she would’ve dealt with the trauma bravely w/o succumbing.I also know 2 many who were victimised! Youngsters & parents on a reality show are desperate to win & Anu Malik has been judge for 11yrs?"

History

Anu Malik was caught in the whirlwind of the #Metoo movement in 2018. The veteran music composer had been accused of sexual harassment by singers Shweta Pandit, Neha Bhasin and Sona Mohapatra. Later, two more victims came forward and accused the 'Indian Idol' judge. Besides Anu Malik, several prominent personalities like Alok Nath, Nana Patekar, Vikas Bahl, Rajat Kapoor, Kailash Kher, Mukesh Chhabra, Vinod Dua, Sham Kaushal, and Jatin Das among many others were accused of alleged sexual harassment by women who come forward and shared their #MeToo stories.
