Dabangg actress Sonakshi Sinha has revealed in an interview with a media publication how she landed the role of 'Rajjo' in the Salman Khan starrer franchise. The actress also talks about how Salman Khan, along with Arbaaz Khan, told her that she is right for the role. In an interview with a media outlet, she also said that she never had a fangirl moment with Khan before the movie or while it was being shot. However, she became a fan of the Bollywood megastar once the film was released. Although she has made her name in the industry today, she supposedly accredits her success to Salman Khan, who gave her a big break in Bollywood in 2010.

Sonakshi recalls
Sonakshi Sinha had revealed a few months back in a comedy talk show that it was Salman who walked up to her at a fashion event and told her to lose weight. She said she was working as an audience manager at a fashion show, where Salman was present as well. He told her to get in shape as he was looking for an actress for his next movie. In another interview, Sinha stated that though she never thought of acting as a career for herself, Khan saw the acting ‘keeda’ in her and encouraged her to pursue it. She also said that Salman, his brother Arbaaz and the director of Dabangg came to her house one day, out of the blue, and read the script of the movie for her. Before she could say anything, she was told that she will do the film. Her parents were also present at the reading, and they were very impressed with the script.

Sonakshi was just 21-years old when she started shooting for Dabangg. She had no prior experience, nor did she have any knowledge about what the job requires her to do. Thanking her lucky stars, Sinha said that she took to acting very well and that her first scene was done in a single take! She reminisces that everyone on the set cheered and clapped for her and told her that she was a natural, while Salman Khan had an 'I-told-you-so-smile' on his face. Sonakshi also excitedly pointed out that very few other female actors have iconic dialogues, like her ‘thappad se darr nahi lagta sahib, Pyar se lagta hai’.
