Stree 2 BO Collection Day 5: Rajkummar Starrer Rides Raksha Bandhan Wave, Mints ₹228.45 Crore

Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree 2 has been enjoying its run at the box office since day one. The movie opened at a whopping ₹60.3 crore. The movie witnessed a slight downfall on the second day but since the third day, the movie has been unstoppable at the box office. It became the first movie to cross ₹100 crore mark in just three days. It was nothing different on Monday, the movie continued to make waves at the box office and surpassed ₹200 crore mark.

On Monday, Amar Kaushik’s directorial performed exceptionally well in mass circuits, particularly due to the Raksha Bandhan holiday. Stree 2 minted ₹37 crores on the fifth day, taking the total collection to ₹228.45 crores, according to early estimates reported by Sacnilk.

Stree 2 had an overall 49.48 per cent Hindi occupancy on Monday with the maximum reported in Jaipur (72.75 per cent).

It is the sequel to the 2018 film and is the fifth instalment in the Maddock Supernatural Universe. Directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Jyoti Deshpande, this movie is presented by Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan. The film features Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and others has a few cameo appearances that have brought the story to life.

About the Sarkata legend in Stree 2

The movie introduces Sarkata as the villain, who faces off against Shraddha Kapoor’s character, Stree. This character is the adaptation of real-life lore as it is widely believed that those who die in accidents become this evil entity. According to the local lore in Uttarakhand, the Sarkata Bhoot is not just any vengeful ghost but the spirit of a British officer who died during World War II. This twist adds a historical dimension to the myth with the rich drape of supernatural beliefs.
