Stree 2: Ever since the horror-comedy starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao released in theatres on August 15, it has set the cash registers ringing. The film has become a box office blockbuster and has become the highest-earning Bollywood film of 2024 so far. Recently, the cast of Stree 2 revealed an interesting detail about the film.

Rajkummar Rao’s singing Calm Down in film cost makers ₹25 lakh?

In an interview with FM, Rajkummar Rao's co-star in Stree 2, Abhishek Banerjee spilled the beans about this particular detail in the film. He said that singing a certain segment of Calm Down song by Rema, which was Rajkummar Rao’s improvisation, proved quite expensive to the filmmakers. To secure the music rights of Calm Down, the makers had to shell out ₹25 Lakh. Abhishek further said, "Ye Itihaaas ka sabse mehnga improvisation tha."

What else did Abhishek Banerjee reveal about Stree 2?

Abhishek Banerjee expressed that living up to the legacy of the first part of Stree was challenging and admitted that he anticipated the film would do well. But seeing such success and box office returns was beyond his expectations.

Stree 2 box office collection

According to the reports of Sacnilk report, within 12 days of its release, the India nett collection of the horror comedy  Stree 2 is ₹403.05 crore. While the world collection of the film is ₹ 576.75 crore. According to the estimates by Sacnilk, Stree 2 collections abroad are less than ₹100 crore ($10 million).
