Stree 2 has been running riot at the box office ever since its release during the Independence Day weekend. The Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starter horror comedy has become one of the biggest Indian sequels, in terms of returns, and is also eyeing the ₹600 crore mark in Hindi collections. Meanwhile, a video from the set has gone viral on social media which shows Tamannaah transforming into a bald woman for a crucial scene in the movie.

How Tamannaah's bald look in Stree 2 was achieved

A video showed prosthetics being applied to the actress so that she could achieve a bald look. Obviously, she did not trim her hair in the movie but special makeup was used for achieving a very believable bald look in Stree 2 for Tamannaah and other actresses.

The bald look of Tamannaah is very crucial to the movie and features in the climax. The women going bald, in the film, signifies the loss of their identity and power, which is what Sarkata feeds off. The look of women walking bald in the film is a significant portion of the horror comedy and is executed well by director Amar Kaushik.

Stree 2 director on Tamannaah's first reaction to her bald look

In an interview with a publication, Amar Kaushik revealed that he was hesitant in approaching Tamannaah because of the bald look she had to sport in the movie. He said that just like the first Stree film, the sequel also demanded them to have a dance number. However, this time, they thought of giving meaning to it. Amar said wanted artists who could dance well and someone who was a good actress.

So when he approached Tamannaah he was a little hesitant to ask her as the character Shama had to sport a bald look in the climax. However, to his surprise, the actress was quite cool about it. She didn't ask any questions and said okay to portraying a bald character.
