Subrata 'Saharasri' Roy biopic: All you need to know about Sudipto Sen directorial

Sahara India Pariwar founder Subrata Roy's passing has reignited interest in the business stalwart's biopic which had been announced earlier this year.

Subrata Roy passed away on November 14. Sahara India Pariwar co-founder h been suffering from prolonged illness. This very year, on occasion of his 75th birthday, a biopic on his life and legacy h been announced. film in works carries names of trailblazers in ir respective fields to tune of AR Rahman, Gulzar as well as Kerala Story director, Sudipto Sen.

Subrata Roy's biopic has been titled Saharasri

Subrata Roy h turned 75 this year. Sahara India Pariwar founder's birthday is celebrated every year on June 10. On same date this year, a motion poster of film was released which portrayed a sum of ₹25000 crores being credited to 'People of India' via a cheque. motion poster also revealed name of biopic - Saharasri - apted name of his brand, Sahara.


biopic is set to be directed by Kerala Story director Sudipto Sen. music for film will be given by AR Rahman with lyrics being penned by Gulzar. Allegedly, name of a top actor has been locked in for film, details of which were soon to be shared as per June announcement - no intimation on this has come thus far. ditionally, Saharasri has been penned by Rishi Virmani, Sudipto Sen and Sandeep Singh. film also marks first collaboration between Dr. Jayantilal Ga and Sandeep Singh.

Sahara India Pariwar releases official statement dressing Subrata Roy's death


An official statement released by Sahara India Pariwar intimated that Subrata Roy passed away due to complications stemming from metatastic malignancy, hypertension and diabetes. He was 75 years of age. statement also expressed a commitment to uphold Saharasri legacy in years to come.

Excerpts from release re, "Saharasri ji an inspirational leer and visionary, passed away on 14th November 2023 at 10.30 pm due to cardiorespiratory arrest following an extended battle with complications arising from metastatic malignancy, hypertension, and diabetes.
