Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel groove to bhangara beats at Gadar 2 trailer launch event

Sunny Deol starrer Gadar 2 will make its theatrical debut on August 11. Ahead of the release, the trailer launch of the film took place on Wednesday. The event was attended by the cast and crew of the movie, including the lead actors Sunny and Ameesha Patel.

Sunny and Ameesha were spotted at the trailer launch dressed as their characters in Gadar 2. The actress sported a red sharara, while Sunny was seen in a saffron kurta, a pair of white pyjamas, a black jacket paired with a beige turban. In the video, the two can be seen posing for pictures in front of a truck when they couldn't help but start dancing to the beats of the dhol. 

Talking about the film at the event Sunny said, "I am highly grateful to the fans for their unwavering support for Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, and I assure that Gadar 2 will deliver double the action, emotions, and entertainment." 

What is the storyline of Gadar 2? 

Gadar 2 is the much-anticipated sequel to the blockbuster hit Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, released in 2001. The original film depicted the love story between Sakina, a Muslim girl, and Tara Singh, an Indian Sikh man. The storyline was set against the backdrop of partition. 

Meanwhile, the second part is set in Lahore with the backdrop of 1971 India-Pakistan war. The film will take place 17 years after the events of its prequel. Along with Sunny and Ameesha, the director’s son Utkarsh Sharma will also be back to reprise his role of Jeete, Tara and Sakeena’s son.
