Supreme Court allows CBI probe in Sushant Singh case; Mumbai police told to cooperate
In breaking development the Supreme Court on Wednesday has pronounced the verdict giving nod for the investigation to be conducted by CBI in Sushant Singh case

In a breaking development amid global and relentless #CBIForSSR campaign, Supreme Court on Wednesday has prounced verdict giving d for investigation to be conducted by CBI. Supreme Court has directed Mumbai Police to cooperate with CBI during investigation.
According to Republic sources, Maharashtra Government councel asked for liberty to challenge transfer of investigation to CBI. Supreme Court refused argument saying it is a court ordered CBI investigation w, giving scope for Maharashtra Government to challenge it. CBi is awaiting copy of order to examine it and proceed accordingly.

A single judge bench of Justice Hrishikesh Roy upheld Bihar government's order to transfer investigation to CBI. Moreover Justice Roy held that Bihar Police had jurisdiction to register FIR at complaint of Sushant's far.
orders were dictated within minutes of single-judge bench assembling. Justice Roy had earlier held two hearings into Rhea Chakraborty's plea seeking transfer of case from Patna to Mumbai. Former ASG Maninder Singh, appearing for Bihar government, had submitted that Bihar CM had t interfered in case and added that recommendation for a CBI probe was based on advice of concerned authorities. "In Maharashtra, re may be political pressure but t in Bihar. What are we hiding in this case? Maharashtra Police have t cooperated with Bihar Police in this case," Maninder Singh had told apex court.

"One factor which however is considered relevant for induction of Central ncy is to retain public confidence in impartial working of State ncies. It is t for accused to choose investigating ncy," it observed.
Supreme Court also said that ongoing investigation by CBI is held to be lawful. "In event, a new case is registered at Mumbai on same issue, in fitness of things, it would be appropriate if latter case too, gets investigated by same ncy, on strength of this Court’s order. Such enabling order will make it possible for CBI to investigate new case, avoiding rigours of Section 6 of DSPE Act, requiring consent from State of Maharashtra," it said.
