Sushant Singh Rajput death probe LIVE Updates: ED acquires Bank documents of Rhea's father

Sushant's family friend Smita Parikh has busted Rhea Chakraborty's yet another lie claiming that the actor died by suicide. "Rhea called me yesterday, she said she also does not believe that it is a suicide and that she wants justice for Sushant," Smita told Republic Media Network's Editor-in-Chief Arnab on the debate. 

The ED, which has registered a PMLA case, interrogated Rhea Chakraborty's father Indrajit Chakraborty. They also probed his bank account details on Thursday. 

Meanwhile, the NCB officials from Delhi have left the ED office. As per sources, NCB officials were present as the ED grilled Indrajit Chakraborty.

In yet another massive development, sources have revealed that no medicine had been prescribed to Sushant Singh Rajput by his doctor. Key-accused Rhea Chakraborty had claimed that his doctor had prescribed dosage of Modafinil. 

Rhea Chakraborty's neighbour revealed that Shruti Modi often stayed with Rhea at her place and Sushant was also seen coming and going during these times. Earlier, Shruti Modi was grilled by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) which is probing the financial angle in the case. Republic Media Network had also accessed WhatsApp chats of Sushant's father KK Singh with the late actor's then-manager Shruti Modi, from November 29, 2019. 

After investigations into foul play into Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, and the financial aspect as mentioned in the First Information Report, the narcotics angle into the case created further headlines. As prime accused Rhea Chakraborty’s text messages related to narcotics use got leaked, and the Bollywood link to it became a talking point, Kangana Ranaut opened up on some of the details involving the use of drugs at Bollywood parties. The actor stated that she was willing to help the Narcotics Control Bureau, provided she is given protection by the government. 

In the latest update, Rhea Chakraborty's father Indrajit Chakraborty reached Axis Bank in Vakola along with the ED. Sources have reported that the ED is collecting his bank documents and his locker keys.

"It's very sad that a named accused is being called on the show and being interviewed as a celebrity. It's clearly not a grilling session but a soft interview to give her a platform to speak whatever she wants," said SSR's family lawyer Vikas Singh. "As soon as the drug angle comes to the fore, she's ready to give an interview?" he asked.

In an attempt to suppress the reportage in the death probe of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, a PIL has been filed in the Bombay High Court seeking a stay on all sorts of reporting claiming that it might 'hamper' the CBI probe in the case. The petition filed by three activists including filmmaker Nilesh Navalakha from Mumbai has urged the HC to direct all media channels - both print and electronic - to call off the 'Parallel Investigation' in all aspects.

The NCB team from Delhi led by Deputy Director of Operations - KPS Malhotra arrived in Mumbai on Thursday afternoon. Officials from both Delhi and Mumbai unit of the NCB will carry out the investigation into the narcotics angle of the SSR probe.
 

Rhea's father Indrajit Chakraborty reached the ED Office on Thursday afternoon. Sources reported that officials from the narcotics department were also present during his questioning. 

The NCB team in Mumbai investigating the narcotics angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case was spotted moving towards the CBI's DRDO Guesthouse on Thursday afternoon.

In a sensational development, Republic TV has exposed a link between Rhea Chakraborty and Sushant's 'self-proclaimed close friend' Sandip Ssingh, as the same car which happened to ferry her to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office was spotted outside Sandip Ssingh's residence on Thursday. 

Republic TV, on Thursday, spotted the car below the residence of Sandip Ssingh - the Ford Endeavour had taken Rhea Chakraborty to the ED's office earlier this month. Republic TV also confronted the driver of the vehicle who refused to answer to any questions posted. 

Sandip Ssingh on July 29 in an interview with Republic TV's Editor-In-Chief Arnab Goswami had resoundingly claimed that he did not know Rhea Chakraborty. However, the mystery car link between the two casts aspersions on Sandip Ssingh's 'don't know Rhea' statement, amid the many many possible angles that are now emerging, which are being probed by three different central agencies. Earlier, the identity of mystery woman who had entered Sushant's house on June 14 was revealed to have been Rhea's publicist Radhika Nihalani, who was also seen speaking to Sandip Ssingh that day.   

Sources have informed Republic TV that the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) team led by Deputy Director KPS Malhotra will arrive in Mumbai on Thursday evening. 

Hours after Sushant's family raised objections on an interview given by Rhea Chakraborty to a television channel, Sushant Singh Rajput's ex-girlfriend Ankita Lokhande has slammed the kind of questioning in the interview. Taking to Twitter, Ankita Lokhande shared a video of Sushant in which the late actor is seen flying a jet, which is in stark contrast to the claims made by accused number 1 Rhea in her interview. 

Speaking about the Europe Trip - that is under the scanner of investigative agencies -  and Suhsant's alleged bipolar behaviour, Rhea in the interview has claimed that Sushant consumed a medicine before boarding the flight as he felt claustrophobic. She also claimed that Sushant had told her that he always feels claustrophobic in a flight and that he had been consuming medicine related to the same since 2013. 

In a sharp rebuttal to the claims made by Rhea, Ankita Lokhande shared a proof stating that Sushant always wanted to fly. She asked - 'Is this claustrophobia?' In the video, Sushant is seen setting the system in his Boeing 737 Fixed Base Flight Simulator just before the take-off and is heard saying the flying instructions. Watch the video below: 

NCB - which is probing the drug cartel in Bollywood alongside the narcotics angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case is all set to question 20 suspects

Showik Chakraborty was summoned by the CBI to appear before the investigating team on Thursday morning. He was asked to carry documents pertaining to the company in which he has been a director. 

The Enforcement Directorate (ED), on Thursday, issued fresh summons to Rhea Chakraborty's father Indrajit. The agency has asked the actor's father to submit certain documents pertaining to the case. 

In the latest development, sources have told Republic TV that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) suspects drug dealer Gaurav Arya as a loose end in the case and that his statement was to be recorded. 

The ED team in Goa tried to reach out to Gaurav Arya but the latter's phone was switched off. ED sources further told Republic TV that Gaurav Arya could be part of the drug cartel which was benefiting from the proceeds of crime.

Sushant Singh Rajput and Rhea Chakraborty's ex-talent manager Jaya Saha was quizzed by ED on Wednesday for four hours. Sources informed Republic TV that Jaya Saha had generated Rs 10 crore incomes for Sushant via endorsements. The  ED are also checking into the payment details, how the money was transferred, and if there were any funds diverted.

In the latest development, sources have informed Republic TV that an NCB team from the Mumbai unit has been asked to start 'analyzing the network' of drug ring in Mumbai. The team also been asked to look into the Bollywood network as well. 

A team of three members led by Deputy Director (Operations) has been set up in Delhi and they depart for Mumbai on Friday.

Whatsapp conversations accessed by Republic TV highlight Rhea's chats with an alleged drug dealer. Earlier Rhea Chakraborty's lawyer Satish Mansinde had refuted allegations over Rhea using and dealing in narcotics saying, "Rhea has never consumed drugs in her lifetime. She's ready for a blood test any time," said Rhea Chakraborty's lawyer Satish Mansinde, though he's not spoken about her dealing in them.

Joining the ED and the CBI in the probe into Sushant Singh Rajput's death, the NJarcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has registered a case under sections 20, 27 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS). These sections pertain to criminal conspiracy in procuring and consuming illegal drugs. 

Sources have also reported that the NCB is investigating Rhea Chakraborty's link to the drug cartel and her brother Showik Chakraborty as well. Sources add that the 15-page Whatsapp conversations handed over to the NCB indicate that Rhea and her associates had discussed allegedly spiking Rajput's tea or coffee with a drug to get a certain 'kick'.

The narcotics angle in the case came into light on Tuesday and on Wednesday, when ED, which is probing the financial angle in the Sushant death case, summoned former talent manager Jaya Saha. Jaya Saha's name surfaced in some text messages with Rhea in which a discussion about putting "four drops" of some substance in somebody's drink. The message, allegedly sent in late 2019 reads,  “Use 4 drops in tea, let him sip it …. Give it 30-40 mins to kick in”.

Just hours after the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) jumped into the Sushant Singh Rajput death probe, sources have informed that names of 20 top Bollywood stars and politicians allegedly linked to the case are with the investigating agencies - ED and CBI. This comes after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) informed the NCB earlier in the day, that they have evidence of Rhea Chakraborty allegedly dealing in narcotics. With Rhea Chakraborty already being named in the CBI FIR as the key accused, sources have also reported that the NCB might summon the Bollywood actor probably by Wednesday evening to probe the narcotics angle.

Shortly after the NCB charged Rhea Chakraborty and others for their use & deals in narcotics, sources informed Republic TV that handwriting samples, voice samples of the actor will be taken by the agency to further the probe. Apart from these, the NCB is also likely to collect a blood sample from Rhea.

Sources tell Republic TV that section 53 of CRPC ACT (Criminal Procedure Code) allows police to take blood samples against the will of the accused. 

In a first major confession in the Sushant Singh Rajput's death case, sources informed Republic TV that Siddharth Pithani, Dipesh Sawant, and Samuel Miranda have confessed to the CBI that eight hard-disks worth of data was cleaned out by a mystery group around the time when Disha Salian died and Rhea left Sushant’s house.

CBI sources have claimed that the trio confessed to a colossal amount of data was deleted from laptops, computers, and other devices at Sushant Singh Rajput's residence around the time period when Disha Salian passed away and around the time Rhea Chakraborty left Sushant's house. Sources inform that the confession by prime witnesses — Siddharth Pithani, Dipesh Sawant, and Samuel Miranda — raises questions on the suicide narrative that has been spread so far.
