Sushant Singh Rajput made his debut Bollywood with Kai Po Che! in 2013. Before that, he was seen in Pavitra Rishta in the lead role, and his character 'Manav' in it went on to become a household name. His work in movies such as PK and M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, earned him a lot of appreciations across the country. Sushant’s journey from television to Bollywood is an inspiration to many. But very few know about his life before that. Sushant Singh Rajput’s early life

Sushant Singh Rajput was born to a Rajput family in Patna, Bihar, on January 21, 1986. However, the roots of the family belong to Maldiha, Purnia district of Bihar. His father was a government officer. His mother passed away in 2002. In an interview, he mentioned that he did not cry at that time. The actor never fails to express his love for his mother, as he keeps mentioning her either in his interviews or social media handles. Sushant has four elder sisters. One of them, Ritu Singh, is a state-level cricketer. 

According to various sources, Sushant Singh Rajput studied in St. Karen’s High School in Patna. After moving to Delhi, he went to Hansraj Model School in New Delhi. According to Sushant, he was ranked seventh in All India Engineering Entrance Exam in the year 2003. After that, he secured admission for Mechanical Engineering at Delhi College of Engineering. He was reportedly a bright student and also won the National Olympiad in Physics. It is said that, in total, he passed as many as 11 engineering entrance exams, which include Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad. Later on, he started participating in extracurricular activities like dance and theatre. In the end, he dropped out of DCE in his third year to pursue his career in acting, as mentioned by him at several events.

On the work front

Sushant Singh Rajput’s latest release Chhichhore has become a super-hit, based on media reports, the movie collected ₹133.53 crores in 22 days of its release. The movie also stars Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Sharma, Prateik Babbar, Tahir Bhasin, Naveen Polishetty, Tushar Pandey, and Saharsh Kumar Shukla. He will be seen next in Drive alongside Jacqueline Fernandez on Netflix. Dil Bechara, Chanda Mama Door Ke, and Gustakhiyan are also reportedly his upcoming projects.
