Taapsee Pannu says ''Falguni Pathak breaks stereotypes"

The promotions for Saand Ki Aankh have had a booming start with Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar performing at 'Navaratri Utsav'. On Tuesday, October 01, Taapsee and Bhumi made a celebrity appearance at Falguni Pathak’s 'Navaratri Utsav in Mumbai'. The actors entered the stage playing ‘dandiya’ with each other, alongside, Falguni, who was singing her songs. Taapsee prepared a special performance on Falguni Pathak’s Chudi jo khanki song.

Taapsee and Bhumi at Navaratri Utsav:

Post Pannu’s performance, Falguni Pathak and the Saand Ki Aankh’s cast had an amazing interaction session with the crowd. Taapsee Pannu was all praises for Falguni. She reportedly said that it was such fun dancing with Falguni. She praised the singer saying that Falguni breaks stereotypes in the way she conducts herself, just like the daadis, Prakashi and Chandro Tomar from Saand ki Aankh. Taapsee seemed to be fascinated by Falguni’s looks and the attitude with which she carries her. Talking about Saand Ki Aankh, Taapsee explained the concept of the film. She even talked about her and Bhumi Pednekar’s role in the film.

Bhumi talks about the film

Bhumi was also present at the event, performing with Taapsee. The Dum Laga Ke Haisha actor said that she had prayed for the success of Saand Ki Aankh. And she seemed confident in her words saying how they plan to take the story to the remotest recesses of the country. Reportedly, Bhumi was also heard talking about women inequality at this event. She said that Saand Ki Aankh highlights the inequality towards women that exists even today in our society.

Saand Ki Aankh is a sports biopic based on the lives of India's oldest sharpshooters, Prakashi Tomar and Chandro Tomar. The movie is a tribute to Chandro and Prakashi. They have won 352 medals each, in the course of their veteran professional life as a sharpshooter. Taapsee will be essaying the role of Chandro Tomar, while Bhumi will play Prakashi Tomar. The movie is directed by Tushar Hiranandani under the collective production of Reliance Entertainment, Anurag Kashyap and Nidhi Parmar. Saand Ki Aankh is set to hit the screens on October 25, 2019.
