Tamil Nadu increases seating capacity in cinemas, multiplexes to 100% ahead of Pongal
Tamil Nadu government issued a GO wherein it dictated that seating capacity in theatres and cinemas be increased to 100% ahead of Tamil New Year and Pongal

Tamil Nu government has released a GO (Government Order) permitting 100% seating capacity at cinemas and atres, considering decline of COVID-19 cases in state. government also anunced that in order to create awareness among viewers about pandemic, visuals depicting precautionary measures will be screened during showtime. State Revenue and Disaster Manment Department released an official press statement on Monday wherein it me anuncement.

official press release states, 'Based on directives of Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Cinemas/atres/multiplexes were permitted to open from vember 10, 2020 with 50% of ir seating capacity by following Standard Operating Procedure in Government Order fifth re above. Based on decrease in COVID-19 cases day by day, atre Owners Association have represented to Government to increase seating capacity of Cinemas/atres/muItipIexes. w, refore Government hereby permit to increase seating capacity of Cinemas/atres/ Multiplexes from existing 50% a to 100%.'

Actor Vijay met Tamil Nu Chief Minister Edappi K. Palaniswami
This major development comes after actor Vijay met Tamil Nu Chief Minister Edappi K. Palaniswami, requesting that his movie 'Master' scheduled to release for Pongal get 100% seating capacity at atres. Actor Silambarasan (Simbu) h put forth a similar request to CM before launch of his film 'Eeswaran' which is also due for release on festive occasion of Pongal.
