Riteish Deshmukh has made his place in the Marathi film industry as well as in Bollywood. After delivering blockbuster hits like Lai Bhaari, he will soon make a comeback to the big screen with Mauli. His Housefull 4 will also hit the theatres soon. The Total Dhamaal actor is busy in promotions of all his upcoming movies.
Riteish Deshmukh to collaborate once again with Ravi Jadhav
Riteish Deshmukh collaborated with National Award winner and filmmaker Ravi Jadhav in 2013 for his Balak Palak. The actor turned producer for the first time for Balak Palak. Further, the duo once again teamed up for director Ravi Jadhav’s Bollywood debut Banjo. Balak Palak and Banjo did not seem to fairly well at the box-office as their total box-office collections were ₹ 12 crores and ₹ 8.80 crores respectively.
According to reports, after almost three years the actor-director duo has planned on collaborating again, this time for a historical period drama. Riteish and Ravi are now reportedly teaming up for a biopic on the warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Riteish will be playing the lead role and portraying the character of Shivaji Maharaj. Riteish took to his social media handle to announce his upcoming movie. Since then, information about the movie has been doing the rounds on social media and has created a buzz among the fans. The makers have not unveiled Riteish’s look from the movie yet, but a picture of the actor on one of his social media handles is speculated to be his look from the movie. In the picture, Riteish can be seen going for the full-bearded look and can be seen dressed in a Maratha warrior's attire.
Riteish Deshmukh's next movie to be based on Shivaji Maharaj
The movie is slated to release by this year and will be the next high-budget historical drama after Baahubali. According to reports, the movie's budget is around ₹ 225 crores. The movie will be produced by Genelia D’Souza. The actor in an interview mentioned that, the movie will hit the floors as a Marathi film, but that it may later be made into a Hindi-Marathi bilingual film. He added that that will be decided after its release.
On the work front, Riteish's production, Faster Fene, has done decently well at the box-office with a total collection of ₹ 9 crores. In an interview, the actor spoke about his experience of being a producer. He said that he is really glad that the movies he produced have all been from different genres and were highly appreciated by the audiences. He further added that when one has to work on a low budget, all the person can do is work on the content and the space provided and execute a good movie. The actor will next star in the Bollywood movies Marjaavaan and Housefull 4.
