The Buckingham Murders Box Office Collection Day 1: Kareena Kapoor Hits Lowest Opening Of Her Career

Kareena Kapoor starrer The Buckingham Murders has hit the theatres on Friday, September 13. The Hansal Mehta directorial revolves around a grieving British-Indian detective who is assigned the case of a murdered child in Buckinghamshire. The movie earned positive reviews from the audience but still registered the lowest opening at the box office.

On the first day of the release, the movie minted ₹1.15 crore at the box office which is the lowest opening of Kareena's career, per Sacnilk. The Buckingham Murders had an overall 9.99 per cent Hindi occupancy on Friday with the maximum reported in Chennai (56 per cent). Owing to positive word of mouth the movie is expected to witness a spike in the collection over the weekend.

During one of the promotional events, Kareena shared that her role has been inspired by Kate Winslet's character in the miniseries Mare of Easttown. The film is in Hindi and English with 80 per cent of the dialogues in English.

A few hours after the movie released in the theatres, movie buffs flooded the X with their reviews. Another pointed out that the first half loses the grip but the climax brings it back. Apart from Kareena, the movie also stars Keith Allen, Ranveer Brar and Chris Wilson, in supporting roles. It marks Kareena's first production venture; she produced it alongside Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor.
