The Sabarmati Report: After PM Modi's Praise, BJP Leaders Watch 'Unmissable' Film On Godhra Tragedy

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari praised The Sabarmati Report and said that it is important that everyone should watch it as it documents an important incident.

Sabarmati Report: Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports and Labour and Employment Mansukh Mandaviya, actor Vikrant Massey and BJP MP Manoj Tiwari attended a screening of Sabarmati Report in New Delhi on Monday. Vikrant expressed his happiness after looking at number of people who came to watch film. Set in aftermath of Godhra train burning incident, movie has so far collected over ₹8 crore in three days, since its release on November 15.

Vikrant calls Sabarmati Report screening 'amazing'

In a conversation with ANI, 12th Fail actor said, " experience was amazing. cinema hall was housefull. Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and BJP MP Manoj Tiwari attended screening..."

Sabarmati Report is based on burning of S6 coach of Sabarmati Express near Godhra station (Gujarat) on February 27, 2002. At least 59 Hindu devotees returning from Ayodhya were burnt to death in incident, which led to riots in state later. PM Modi was Chief Minister of Gujarat at time of tragic event. Vikrant furr shared, "re is a dialogue in film, you cannot hide truth, it comes out one day...It is a very important film. unfortunate incident that happened is part of our history, we have never seen it in cinema or documentaries. PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have also praised film."

Manoj Tiwari praised film and said that it is important that everyone should watch this film as it documents an important incident. "Anyone who misses watching film Sabarmati Report will miss out on such events of country which were hidden and which are very important for every citizen of country to know about... film will be a big hit and will also provide a lot of information," Tiwari shared.

PM Modi praises Sabarmati Report

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Vikrant Massey starrer Sabarmati Report, a movie based on Godhra train-coach burning incident of 2002. He said it is good that "truth" is coming out. Prime Minister was replying to an X user who h praised movie and tagged him with a video of film's trailer. movie was released on Friday. "Well said. It is good that this truth is coming out, and that too in a way common people can see it. A fake narrative can persist only for a limited period of time. Eventually, facts will always come out!," PM Modi wrote on X.


Apart from Vikrant, film also stars Ridhi Dogra and Raashii Khanna as journalists.
