X (formerly Twitter) is flooded with positive reviews with netizens hailing first half and calling second half "slight slow". However, overall all have called movie "powerful". Tre Analyst Sumit Kel gave 3.5 stars to movie out of five and called movie "well-researched". He wrote, "#SabarmatiReport is a powerful and well-researched film about tragic Sabarmati train incident that led to Gujarat riots. It reveals many shocking and untold aspects that were missed by media back n and dives into challenges of journalism and or social issues." Hailing Vikrant's performance in movie, he wrote actor, "Shines in his role with a BRILLIANT PERFORMANCE."

Sabarmati Report: What happened on fateful morning of February 2002?

On morning of February 27, 2002, a coach of Sabarmati Express — Coach S6 — was set ablaze and 59 passengers travelling in that coach were charred to death. train h arrived at Godhra station, about 125 km from Ahmedab, Gujarat just n. victims included 27 women and 10 children. Injuries were suffered by anor 48 passengers. According to a Commission of Inquiry report, most of 59 people killed were kar sevaks who were returning from Ayodhya in Uttar Presh.
