Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, and Zaira Wasim-starrer The Sky Is Pink is inspired by the real-life story of Aisha Chaudhary. According to a news portal, Aisha was born with an immune deficiency disorder, SCID (Severe Combined Immuno-Deficiency). Aisha had to undergo a bone marrow transplant. She suffered from pulmonary fibrosis, as a result of which her lungs worked less than half of their capacity. Aisha has also written a book My Little Epiphanies which was published in 2015.

Neerja
The movie Neerja starring Sonam Kapoor was released in 2016. The movie traces the story of Neerja Bhanot, who was an air-hostess. Neerja successfully saved 359 passengers when a terrorist organisation hijacked her flight, but unfortunately lost her life. The entire movie shows how the events on the Pam Am flight 73 unfolded as the terrorists turned ruthless. The movie was directed by Ram Madhvani.
Manjhi: The Mountain Man
Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte starrer Manjhi: The Mountain Man was based on Dashrath Manjhi, a poor man of a low caste. Manjhi’s wife Phaguniya slipped and fell off while climbing a mountain that stood between their village and the nearest town. Manjhi’s grief made him carve a path through the mountain for 22 years so that nobody else has to suffer from the same fate.
Sarbjit
Sarbjit is a 2016 movie starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Randeep Hooda, and Richa Chadha. The movie shows the struggle of a sister who is trying to free her wrongly accused brother from jail. The story is based on Sarabjit Singh, who accidentally crossed the Indo-Pak border under the influence of alcohol. Unfortunately, Sarabjit was declared an Indian spy by the Pakistan Supreme Court, and he was sentenced to capital punishment.
Airlift
Airlift was released in 2016 and was directed by Raja Menon. The movie was about an Indian businessman named Ranjit Katyal who became a spokesperson for the 170,000 stranded Indian citizens in Kuwait. Kuwait was being invaded by Iraq. Katyal was successful in bringing all these Indians back home from the war zone. Ranjit’s role was played by Akshay Kumar while Nimrat Kaur played Amrita Katyal, his wife.
The Sky Is Pink will show Zaira Wasim’s character 'Aisha' suffering from Busulfan Lung Damage. The movie is directed by Shonali Bose. It is all set to release on October 11, 2019. It will be interesting to see how the movie has used Aisha Chaudhary’s story as an inspiration.
