The film’s plot revolves around the life of an advertising agent who ends up becoming a ‘lucky charm’ for the Indian Cricket Team.

Dulquer Salmaan portrays the role of Nikhil Khoda, making the audience fall in love with him. Playing the caption of the Indian Cricket Team, he sways the audience with his acting skills and charming looks. Although Sonam Kapoor's character of Zoya appears to be a forgettable one when compared to other films in her filmography.

The Zoya Factor's collection on its opening day at the box office was a mere ₹65-70 lakhs. The film failed to attract a larger crowd even on the weekend. But due to Dulquer’s popularity with the South Indian masses, the film did good business in the state of Kerala. Due to its off-beat plot, the film received a lot of mixed reactions on social media.
