Rocket Singh: Salesman of the year.

With movies like Saawariya, Bachna Ae Haseeno, Wake Up Sid and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahaani, fans and paps created Ranbir's image of a lover boy and stereotyped him for doing only romantic films. From Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year (2009), Ranbir Kapoor proved that he can pull off any role. The actor played the role of a Sikh salesman who starts his own business in the world of corruption.

Raajneeti

Ranbir Kapoor spiced his career by doing a political drama, Raajneeti, which was quite different from the movies he had done till that point of time. He played the character of a young politician in the movie. Raajneeti also stars Ajay Devgn, Katrina Kaif, and Arjun Rampal.

Barfi

After doing serious films like Raajneeti, Anjaana Anjaani and Rockstar, the young actor was seen in Anurag Basu's Barfi. Ranbir had to play the role of a mute and deaf boy trying to cope up with life and love. Both the movie and Ranbir's performance received high praise from critics and fans.
