Aishwarya Rai won hearts with her scintillating moves from the song Crazy Kiya Re from Dhoom 2 back in 2006. The movie starring Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai in the lead was the second movie of the Dhoom franchise. The movie directed by Sanjay Gadhvi was a box office hit, and the audience applauded Aishwarya and Hrithik's sizzling chemistry and Aishwarya's daring style statements. A media report was recently released, where the actor's preparation for the action-thriller was disclosed.

A leading publisher reported Rai lost 10 kgs for her role in Dhoom 2. Reportedly the actor had gained some extra pounds for her role in Mani Ratnam's Guru. And producer Aditya Chopra suggested Aishwarya lose weight for her bikini scenes in the film. The makers of the film hired personal trainer Deepika Mehta for the same. Mehta designed an exclusive training program for Rai. Aishwarya used to wake up at 4 am and workout for two hours before reaching the sets of the film.

The movie directed by Mani Ratnam and produced by Lyca Productions. Allegedly the movie has a massive star cast including actors like Vikram, Nayanthara, Amala Paul, Karthi, Jayaram Ravi, Keerthy Suresh, Jayaram, among others. Ponniyin Selvan is an adaption of Tamil novel of the same name, written by Kalki Krishnamoorthy.
