TV actors who made a successful shift to the Hindi film industry

TV actors are often seen transitioning from the small screen to silver screen. Here are some of the actors who made the shift from TV to films. Read below.

Actors working in the television entertainment industry are often on a lookout for their big Bollywood break. Though actors in Hollywood are known to work simultaneously in films and television, the case is not the same for Indian actors. Television and films are two separate entities in India which makes it difficult for TV actors to make the shift into movies. The film industry has evidently become more welcoming to talent from television in recent years, but it is still a hard task for the actors to jump from one medium to another. Here are some former television actors who made it big on the silver screen.

Sushant Singh Rajput

Sushant was a known face in the television industry before he became a commercial movie star. He was most popularly known as Manaav in the TV show Pavitra Rishta. The actor then later made a shift to Bollywood with 2013's Kai Po Che which was a critical and commercial success. The actor has now delivered two 100 crores club films with M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story and Chhichhore.

Vidya Balan

Vidya Balan debuted in the entertainment industry in the 90s family comedy show Hum Paanch. She made her debut in Hindi films with Parineeta back in 2005. Ever since then, Vidya has delivered some phenomenal performances in films like Kahaani and Ishqiya. Her contribution to the Hindi film industry has earned her a National Award and a Padma Shri award also.

Ayushmann Khurrana

Ayushmann has ventured into many aspects of the entertainment industry. He started off as a radio jockey then became a video jockey for a famous music channel. His career in television was at its highest when he won a reality show titled Roadies. After getting a big break into the film industry with Vicky Donor and hasn't looked back to television ever since.
