1. Main Tera Hero (2014)
This film saw Varun Dhawan collaborate for the first time with his father - the veteran comedy film director David Dhawan. 2. Dishoom (2016)
Dishoom was directed by Varun's elder brother, Rohit Dhawan. The buddy-cop film saw Varun and fellow co-star John Abraham play two cops who have to trace down the captain of the Indian cricket team who is kidnapped. While John portrayed the role of a muscular, no-nonsense police officer, Varun played the role of a simple, affable police officer and provided many laughs in the film.

3. Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017)
Badrinath Ki Dulhania was the follow-up to the 2014 romantic-comedy, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, the film reunited the hit pair of Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. As the wealthy but extremely naive Badrinath "Badri" Bansal, Varun Dhawan displayed another knack for comedy and was widely praised by the audience for his performance.
4. Judwaa 2 (2017)
Directed by David Dhawan, this film was a modern-day remake of his 1997 film, Judwaa, which starred Salman Khan. Varun Dhawan slipped into Salman's double role for Judwaa 2 and played to the gallery as the ruffian Raja and lovable Prem. The most hilarious scene of the film comes at the end when the modern-day Raja and Prem meet the original Raja and Prem from Judwaa, with Salman Khan reprising his role.
