Vedaa, starring John Abraham and Sharvari Wagh, is all set to hit the big screens on August 15 alongside Stree 2 and Khel Khel Mein. While Stree 2 and Khel Khel Mein have a hint of comedy in their storyline, Vedaa seems like an out-an-out action film, with John in his element. Sharvari, who was last seen in Munjya, followed by a small role in Maharaj, goes de-glam for her upcoming action film.
Sharvari-John team up for action-packed drama
John's character in Vedaa is shown to be court-martialled from his Gorkha regiment. He then takes on the role of a mentor as he takes on Sharvari under his tutelage. Sharvari's character seems to be facing the odds of caste-based discrimination as she tries to find her path in the village she lives in. She finds John who offers her salvation by teaching her boxing.

Sharvari, who went viral for her glam role in Munjya which also featured Taras song, seems to have undergone a makeover to essay the role of a person from a marginalised community. The caste system is at play in the movie as hinted in the trailer. Abhishek Banerjee essays the role of a violent villain in the film.
Vedaa promises high-octane action
According to the makers, "Vedaa is a powerful, out-and-out entertaining film, inspired by current events". The film follows the journey of a young woman (played by Sharvari Wagh) who faces and resists a repressive system against Abhishek Banerjee's portrayal of an elusive antagonist. With the help of her saviour (John), this unusual ally becomes her weapon in the struggle for justice. As per a statement, the film "promises a jaw-dropping story filled with heart-pounding stunts and high-octane action."
