Masaan was the first movie where Vicky Kaushal appeared in an independent role. The film earned him the best male debut at IIFA and Star Screen Awards. Masaan featured Vicky Kaushal, Richa Chadha, Shweta Tripathi, and Pankaj Tripathi in pivotal roles. He was the leading actor of the movie and also shared his screen space with another popular TV actor Mohit Raina. Mohit Raina had made his name amongst the television watchers as Mahadev in the serial Devon ke Dev... Mahadev. Mohit Raina also appeared in 21 Sarfarosh - Saragarhi 1897 series, which is now available on Netflix.

Vicky Kaushal films: Upcoming movies

Vicky Kaushal is filming for another patriotic film, Sardar Udham Singh. In this film, he portraying the film's titular role as a freedom fighter. The film is expected to release in 2020. Vicky will also be seen in a horror movie titled Bhoot - Part One: The Haunted Ship produced under Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. Karan Johar's Takht will also see an ensemble cast in a period drama, which includes Vicky Kaushal in a pivotal role.
