On the occasion of World Mathematics Day, Bollywood actor Vidya Balan who is all set to essay the role of maths genius Shakuntala Devi in the upcoming biopic- 'Shakuntala Devi-Human Computer', shared an intriguing math problem on social media. Paying tribute to Shakuntala Devi, she shared a video on Instagram where she asked fans to solve a 'simple yet interesting' equation
The Equation: "Think of a number and subtract 1 from it. Then multiply it by 3 and add 12. Then divide the answer by 3 and add 5. Lastly, subtract the original number from the sum. To which, the actress announced the answer will be 8."

Talking about how magical Mathematics is, Vidya Balan, captioned the post saying, "This beautiful subject never fails to amaze!"

Meanwhile, Vidya Balan also unveiled a new teaser of her upcoming venture 'Shakuntala Devi-Human Computer'. The short video clip stars with several numeric equations and formulas written on a classic blackboard followed by a line that reads, 'This World Mathematics Day, celebrating the woman who made math fun.' The teaser then shows the 40-year-old actor as human calculator Shakuntala Devi, calculating equations on her fingertips. Vidya Balan captioned the Instagram post saying, "She changed the way the world perceived numbers! Celebrating the math genius."

After winning the hearts of the audience with a spectacular performance in Tumhari Sulu, Vidya Balan is all set to grace the silver screen yet again as Indian mathematician Shakuntala Devi. The actress will reportedly take up the lead role and will portray the mathematical genius on-screen. The project will be helmed by filmmaker Anu Menon who has previously directed movies such as London, Paris, New York (2012) and Waiting (2016). Currently, the shooting of Shakuntala Devi-Human Computer is taking place in London. The film also starring Sanya Malhotra is slated to hit the theatres during summer 2020.
