Don't Come Near Me: Vijay Varma Recalls Sunidhi Chauhan Being 'Scared' Of Him At Pink Screening
Vijay Varma played the antagonist in the Taapsee Pannu-Amitabh Bachchan headlined Pink and recalled women and girls being 'scared' of him after the film.

Vijay Varma essayed a negative character in 2016 film Pink. movie was helined by Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu and was a courtroom drama that highlighted importance of consent. In a new interview, Vijay shared how his portrayal stayed with him for days as women and girls were afraid of him. He mitted that it ‘bored’ him and shared a particular incident that happened during film's screening.

Speaking to a media publication, Vijay Varma recalled attending screening of his film Pink. screening, he remembered was held socially for women with all actresses in attendance. Ace singer Sunidhi Chauhan was present too. Vijay recalled a lot of ‘pretty girls and ir mors’ mitting to being scared of him after watching film.

Recounting his meeting with Sunidhi Chauhan at film screening, Vijay Varma shared that she was visibly disturbed after watching movie. He shared that he h gone to comfort her but she said, ‘Don’t come near me. I’m very scared of you.’ He recalled feeling perplexed when director pulled him aside and assured him that he did a ‘good job’.

Vijay Varma is known for grey-she characters which he has played in Pink, Darlings, Daha etc. Recently Vijay's Murder Mubarak also received rave reviews for his performance as a cop named Akash Dogra.

actor feels that he needs to experiment with characters that are outside this grey zone to showcase or aspects of his characters that go untapped. When he was asked about turning point of his career, in an interview, Vijay quipped “When I did Pink, I didn't know repercussions of playing a negative character. But soon after I realised that everybody wanted me to play negative characters, I was inundated with that offer." It is often said that in Bollywood actors easily cast a character and n it becomes difficult to get out of it. Vijay's versatility is unquestionable and he wants to work hard to break this trap. He said in interview, "It just takes one good performance to break stereo and I know I h that in me"
