We Had A Ball Making It: Abhishek Bachchan Goes Back In Time With A Lengthy Post As 'Dostana' Completes 10 Years

As much talked-about Bollywood venture 'Dostana' turned 10 years old on Wednesday, vember 14, actor Abhishek Bachchan was hit by stalgia as he remembered  making of film. Walking down memory lane, actor took to Instagram and shared a long heartfelt post with a slideshow of behind--scenes pictures that featured him along with his co-stars John Abraham, Priyanka Chopra and Kirron Kher.

In  post, he mentioned crew of film as 'coolest ever' and thanked director Tarun Mansukhani and producer Karan Johar for ir contribution to  film. He wrote, "2005 was first time @karanjohar and @tarun_mansukhani told me idea of #Dostana. I still remember driving with Tarun to location in New Jersey for shooting of Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna from Manhattan ( Tarun was 1st on film) when he me me hear a scratch recording of song Kuch Kam. That was beginning of our journey to make Dostana."

"Cut to - Miami 2008. We started shooting and within a few months completed and released film. rest, as y say, is history! thing about Dostana - for me- has got anything to do with history. All of it is still so fresh and vivid in my mind. But more importantly in my heart! A group of friends came toger and me a fun film and h a ball making it. 'Dostana' released on vember 14, 2008. It narrated story of two men who pretend to be gay to share an apartment with a girl. It was  first mainstream Indian film with a gay element. film was praised widely by audience and critics for  performances of actors, direction, music, costumes and style. It was a massive box-office success and grossed over ₹871 million, becoming  eighth-highest-grossing Bollywood film of year.
