Ayushmann Khurrana, despite being just ten films old, is one of the most popular faces in the Bollywood industry. He debuted in the Shoojit Sarkar’s movie Vicky Donor in 2012. He quickly shot to fame after the movie and is now the recipient of the 66th National film award for his acting in the movie Andhadhun. His journey over the years has been nothing short of inspiration. From being a Master’s graduate from Chandigarh to being one of the most bankable actors of the industry today, Ayushmann has come a long way. Here’s all you need to know about Ayushmann Khurrana’s career before he entered the Bollywood industry.

What did he do before movies?

It has been reported that Ayushmann was first seen in the 2002 Channel [V] show Popstars. He was just 17 years old back and was the youngest contestant on the show. In 2004, he appeared on the MTV show Roadies at the age of 20 and emerged out as the winner. After completing his Master’s degree, the Dream Girl actor got his first job as a Radio Jockey in Big FM Delhi, in which he hosted the show Big Chai – Maan Na Maan, Main Tera Ayushmann.

He later joined as a Video Jockey for MTV and was a part of many shows. He also worked in many shows on MTV, including MTV Fully Faltoo Movies. The Bala star then took up the job of a television host for reality shows like India’s Got Talent and Music Ka Maha Muqqabla. On India’s Got Talent, he allegedly revealed that he was a participant of the show, back when it was called India’s Best. However, he did not win the competition and got out soon.

In an interview with leading news daily, he confessed that he has acted in television serials too in order to survive in the business. He has done two shows on television and has played the antagonist in one of them. In 2008, he premiered in the hit television show Kayamath and played a supporting role. In 2009, he played the role of the main antagonist for almost 3 months in the show Ek Thi Rajkumari. The Article 15 actor was also a part of the anchoring team of the Extra Innings T20 for Indian Premier League season 3. After which he anchored for the show Just Dance.

Ayushmann Khurrana then made his Bollywood debut with Vicky Donor opposite Yami Gautam and won many compliments form the netizens, owing to his quirky role of a sperm donor. He is known for choosing unconventional roles and has had a different choice when it comes to his roles right from his first movie. He sang his first song Paani Da for this movie and won Filmfare award for the Best male playback singer for the song. Hence began his journey as an actor and a singer in the Bollywood industry.
