Arushi Sharma had been considering other career opportunities
In a 2022 interview with a news portal, Arushi Sharma had opened up about the time she was strongly considering quitting acting. Arushi's unsurety about being able to break into the industry, despite a star-studded debut, was strong enough for the actress to actively consider falling back on her engineering degree, on the basis of which she was looking for corporate jobs.

Speaking about how the pandemic coincided with the start of her career, she said, "...I had no work at the time. So I wondered what would happen next . At that time, when I was not getting work in the film industry, I had also applied for jobs in other companies. However, I got work in the film industry in time."
Arushi Sharma hopes Kaala Paani to be a turning point for her
For the unversed, Arushi's first on-screen role was a brief glimpse of her as Sita in Imtiaz Ali's 2015 Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone starrer Tamasha. The actress went on to make a full-fledged acting debut with Imtiaz Ali's 2020 release Love Aaj Kal 2 which carried an ensemble cast made up of Kartik Aaryan, Sara Ali Khan and Randeep Hooda. While her first role as a female lead was 2022 film Jaadugar, the actress more recently appeared in survival thriller web series Kaala Paani as Jyotsana.

In an interview with Free Press Journal she said, 'I would like to believe that Kaala Paani is going to be a turning point for me. I waited for such an opportunity for so long and I hope my hard work doesn't go unnoticed. From here on, I hope I get many chances in the future where I can prove myself as an actor. I want to work with makers who think women are not just ornaments on celluloid but have a voice of their own, have a story of their own."
