Rohit Bal’s death brings a blow to fashion industry

Rohit Bal died on Friday, ie, November 1 at a South Delhi hospital following a heart attack, Fashion Designer Council of India (FDCI) president Sunil Sethi said. Bal h been mitted to intensive care unit (ICU) of private hospital in Gurugram for cardiac issues in December last year.

Before Rohit Bal’s passing away, he presented his latest collection at Lakme Fashion Week X FDCI 2024 grand finale which marked renowned fashion designer’s runway comeback 10 months after his health scare.

Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) took to Instagram and said in a statement, “We mourn passing of Legendary designer Rohit Bal. He was a founding member of Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI). Known for his unique blend of tritional patterns with modern sensibilities, Bal’s work redefined Indian fashion, and inspired generations. His legacy of artistry, and innovation along with forward thinking will live on in fashion world. Rest in peace GUDDA”.
