Vicky Kaushal was last seen in Uri: The Surgical Strike. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film was inspired by the real events of the 2016 Uri attack. Vicky will be next seen in Bhanu Pratap Singh’s horror flick, Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship. The film was initially set for a November 15, 2019 release but has reportedly now been pushed further to 2020.

Where was Vicky Kaushal before he entered the film industry?

Vicky Kaushal is the son of stuntman and action director Sham Kaushal. He has reportedly graduated from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Mumbai, with an engineering degree. Kaushal has expressed that he was like every regular kid who was interested in studies, games, and movies. His father reportedly wanted a stable career for him and thus persuaded the actor to pursue a degree.

Soon, Vicky Kaushal started studying acting under Kishore Namit Kapoor who has also trained actors like Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, etc. Vicky then began working under Anurag Kashyap as an assistant director. He assisted Kashyap in the crime drama film series, Gangs of Wasseypur. Vicky Kaushal has addressed Anurag Kashyap as his mentor on several occasions.

Vicky Kaushal then went on to play minor roles in films like Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana and Bombay Velvet. However, he bagged his first leading role in Neeraj Ghaywan’s critically acclaimed film, Masaan. The film also won two awards when it was screened at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. Vicky Kaushal received praise from all corners for his performance in the film. He also won the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year – Male that year.

Vicky Kaushal recently also bagged the National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in his last film, Uri: The Surgical Strike. Today, he is considered to be one of the most versatile actors in Bollywood. He has proved his mettle with every film and that he is here to stay.
