Internet sensation and singer, Ranu Mondal recently shared her story of how she transformed and reached where she is today. She got a big break when Himesh Reshammiya gave her the platform as a playback singer in his upcoming film, Happy Hardy and Heer. She sang two songs in the film which are Teri Meri Kahani and Aadat. However, Himesh recently posted a short video on his social media account where she can be seen singing alongside him in a studio.
Ranu Mondal's journey
In an interview, Ranu revealed about her life story of how she went from rags to riches. She said that her life story was so long that a biopic could be made on it. According to reports, her life took a drastic turn with the video in which she was heard singing Lata Mangeshkar’s hit song Ek Pyar Ka Nagma Hai on the platforms of the railway station. As the video went viral music director, Himesh Reshammiya launched her as a playback singer in the Bollywood industry. Ranu also recorded an episode of Superstar Singer.
Ranu Mondal spoke about her life, as she said that she was not born on the sidewalk. She came from a very good background but the luck was not in her hands. She was only six months when she got separated from her family. She was raised by her grandmother and life was not easy. Ranu also said that she had a house, but people need to run the house. She had been lonely for a long time and struggled with faith in God. Ranu Mondal loved singing but she never got a chance to sing. She often used to learn singing by listening to Lata Mangeshkar's music on the radio and cassettes.
Ranu Mondal reportedly said that after marriage they went to Mumbai from West Bengal. Her husband used to work as a cook in the house of the filmstar Feroz Khan. Her son at that time was studying at Fardeen College. Feroz Khan treated them like family. She also mentioned that she had fun staying in Mumbai as she used to new movies. But something wrong happened and that eventually lead for the couple to part ways.
