Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal released in theatres on December 1. The film has been enjoying a smooth run at the box office, having already become the fifth highest grossing Hindi film of all time, in just 15 days of its theatrical run. Besides the full feature film, certain sequences from Animal have been drawing special attention from the audience. One among them is Bobby Deol's entry sequence in the second half. While Deol too has accrued immense appreciation for his powerful screen presence, a certain girl in the backdrop of the scene has been commanding attention online - but who is she?
Who is the viral Jamal Kudu girl?
Bobby Deol's entry sequence in Animal takes place to the tune of a Persian song, which has now got a new lease of life, courtesy of the overall attention the film, and the scene in particular has received. In spurts an enthusiastic face can be seen singing the catchy song in a choir, commanding attention. The woman in question is Tannaz Davoodi.
Davoodi was born in Tehran, Iran, on June 27, 1997. She is the daughter of journalist Mehdi Aliyari, a journalist Marjan Daimond. Though Davoodi is trained in fashion design from Landstede MBO β Mooi & Mode, she left her job at De Animatie Compagnie to pursue her passion of becoming a Bollywood dancer. Davoodi has shared the stage with stars like John Abraham and Varun Dhawan before landing what appears to be her big break with Animal.
More about Jamal Kudu
The version of Jamal Kudu presented in Animal draws its inspiration from a popular 1950s Persian song. Animal's music composer, Harshvardhan Rameshwar, who has incidentally also given the music for Sandeep Reddy Vanga's directorial debut Arjun Reddy which released in 2017, began by acquired the license to incorporate the track in Animal.
He very interestingly has had children lend their voices to sing the catchy chorus, adding a fresh layer to the Persian classic.
