Yami Gautam: The actor shares stories from her struggling days

Yami Gautam, the Vicky Donor actor made her debut in the Tv industry with shows like Yeh Pyar Na Hoga Kam, Chand Ke Paar Chalo, and many other shows. Her journey has been quite inspiring. She later, made her debut in Bollywood with Vicky Donor, pairing up opposite Ayushmann Khurrana.

Yami Gautam speaks up about her struggling days

After this, Yami Gautam happened to climb the ladder of success swiftly. She did many hit films like Kaabil, Badlapur, Uri: The Surgical Strike. Her roles in the film were appreciated and criticised by many. Yami Gautam’s latest film, Bala released recently and the audience and critic have not been able to stop appreciating the actor’s performance in the film. Bala also starred Bhumi Pednekar and Ayushmann Khurrana along with Yami Gautam in the lead roles. In the film, Yami Gautam played the role of a superficial TikTok star, Pari Mishra, who spends her entire day on social media.

But as success comes in with a lot of efforts, Yami Gautam too, had her share of struggling days. In a recent interview, it was reported that the actor opened up about her days when she was just a struggling actor. She said that she started her career as a television actor but she decided she did not want to remain a television actor because there were no exciting projects coming her way. Yami Gautam then decided to try something else and asked her parents to give her three months to prove her ability to do something in this industry. Her father, however, was concerned about how she will manage and support herself financially, for three months.

Yami Gautam got the opportunity to work for an ad film and also faced rejection. She shared that she walked in for the audition of an ad film and there were 6-7 girls like her who were given different looks. After the makeup artists were done with her makeup she politely told them that she did not look like herself. They threw glances at her and did not take her seriously. For the next two days, Yami Gautam stood ready for the shoot but nobody walked up to her to take her shot. A few hours later, she saw a girl walk in and Yami Gautam was asked to walk out. She then walked out of the room, on the verge of breaking down. Yami Gautam even added that she had agreed to whatever look they asked for but she was still replaced. She sat down in her car, cried and called her dad. The actor also added that despite this she did not stop trying.
