Bigg Boss 17's winner and stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui reportedly purchased a lavish home in an under-constructed 40-storey building in Mumbai.
Stand-up comedian and Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui is making waves not only in his professional life but in his personal life as well. Despite his controversial statements, the comedian always manages to garner netizens’ reactions. Munawar’s recent deal to buy a plush estate definitely marks a significant step in his career.
Munawar Faruqui adds another real estate property to his portfolio
According to the document viewed by Square Yards, the lavish building Munwar Faruqui bought is in the high-rise Lodha Aura. It’s in Wadala’s New Cuffe Parade and was purchased for ₹6.09 crore.
The transaction was reportedly registered on September 16, 2024, with a stamp duty of ₹36.6 lakh and a registration of ₹30,000. Reports suggest that, “Munawar's new home has a space of 1,767 sq ft of built-up area and has three parking lots”. Faruqui's new home is located in Lodha Aura, an under-construction project by Macrotech Developers Limited, also known as Lodha. The 40-storey tower features luxurious 3 BHK and 4 BHK apartments.
When Munawar Faruqui received a death threat
According to several media reports, Delhi police had got a hint about the potential threat when they were interrogating the suspects of another case in Delgi. The suspects revealed that they were instructed to observe the hotel where the comedian was staying for a targeted murder. Soon after, a Delhi police team conducted a search operation at the IGI indoor stadium and Munawar's room. Following this he was sent to Mumbai for his safety.
Recently, the comedian faced backlash for making a derogatory joke about Konkanis on his stand-up comedy show. After receiving flak, the comedian shared a video apologising for his mistake. He said, “I noticed that people are getting hurt over my clip and as a comedian, I do not want to hurt anyone. When we see such things on the Internet, we notice it. We understand the issue. I want to apologise and say sorry to all. Jai Hind, Jai Maharashtra .”
