Coldplay India Concert: Nerds Win Over Fans In Securing Tickets Using 'Inspect Element' Hack

Coldplay India Concert: The British boy band set the internet ablaze as their Mumbai concert tickets went live on September 22. Several fans of the band waited in long digital queues to secure tickets for the concert scheduled for January 18 and 19, 2025. However owing to an overwhelming demand, the band added another show on January 22. Yet, the shows sold out within minutes on BookMyShow. A day later, a techie shared how he had managed to skip the queue and secure a ticket using a hack.

‘Inspect Element’ hack comes to the rescue for techie who secured Coldplay India concert tickets 

Tech professionals have taken to their social media accounts to claim that they managed to get Coldplay Mumbai concert tickets hassle-free. This comes after several fans, celebrities and influencers failed to reserve a booking. One techie named Archit Chauhan, the co-founder and CTO of Crib and a former Microsoft software engineer, shared a hack he used to get his tickets without waiting in long queues. 

 He wrote on X and Linkedin, “We managed to get Coldplay tickets by using some inspect element tricks to find the "buy" ticket URL before it was available to the general public." However, he has now deleted the post on Linkedin. By using the trick, the tech engineer was able to access the hidden parts of the BookMyShow website early which was made available much later for normal users. Several tech professionals and software experts also used this trick to grab the tickets.

While fans of the band waited in long digital queues to get their hands on the tickets for the concert shows, social media users amused themselves with memes about the concert. An X (formerly Twitter) user shared a photo of Amitabh Bachchan surfing a computer preimposed with the BookMyShow screen. The text accompanying it read, "#Coldplay ne Amitabh Bachchan ji ko bhi "LINE" mein khada karva diya" 
 

A user compared the app with the railway ticket booking platform IRCTC and wrote, "Bookmyshow be like : "Aaj tere nahi mere charche hain!"🤡 IRCTC FINALLY GOT HIS OPPONENT !"While waiting to get a hold of the ticket, the app prompted the number of people waiting before. This led to memes surrounding rankings in top competitive exams like IIT JEE. A user wrote, "Ticket book karne gayi thi, JEE mains ki Rank dikh gayi." Another compared it with stock market and wrote, “#coldplay Mumbai concert queue is much much longer than any IPO stat.”
