Former Bollywood actress Zaira Wasim's far Zahid Wasim died on Tuesday, May 28. She took to her social media handle to pay tribute to her far. Zaira earned fame with her debut movie Dangal, starring Aamir Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra. However, after a few years, she quit acting to choose path of spirituality.

Taking to her Instagram, handle, Zaira shared a childhood photo of her with her far and penned a long te asking her followers to remember him in ir prayers. In photo, little Zaira can be seen giving a peck on her far's cheek. In caption, she wrote, "Verily eyes shed tears and heart grieves, but we will t say except that which is pleasing to our Lord.”

Asking her followers to pray for departed soul, she continued, "My far, Zahid Wasim, has passed away. Please remember him in your prayers and ask Allah to forgive his shortcomings, make his grave peaceful, protect him from its torment, and ease his journey from here ahe." 

"May he be called to an easy accounting and be granted highest level of Jannah and Maghrirah. Indeed, we belong to Allah, and Indeed, to Him, we shall return," she concluded.

Zaira Wasim was born on October 23, 2000, in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. Her far, Zahid worked at J&K Bank and her mor is a teacher. Zaira me her acting debut in 2016 with Aamir Khan starrer Dangal where she essayed role of young Geeta Phogat. She went on to star in two hit movies Secret Superstar and Sky Is Pink. However, after giving memorable performances in all three movies, Zaira anunced she was quitting her career as she felt that her profession was damaging her peace, iman, and her relationship with her religion. In 2019, she penned down her te saying she was "t truly happy with identity" and while her work indeed brings a lot of love, support, and applause her way, it also did was to le her to a "path of igrance".

Sky Is Pink, starring Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar and Rohit Saraf, was her last movie.
