Fact check: Is this viral photo from Anushka Sharma's rumoured 2nd pregnancy with Virat Kohli?

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have been in the news for a while and this extends to reasons beyond the recently concluded ICC World Cup loss. The actor-cricketer couple have been in the midst of rumours pointing towards a reported second pregnancy for the duo. The latest development in this regard has been a picture of a seemingly pregnant Anushka Sharma posing along side Virat Kohli which many are considering as a confirmation of the two welcoming baby number two soon. However, the question here is - is this a recent photograph?

Debunking Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli's viral photo

For the unversed, a picture of Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli, has been going viral on the internet, purely from the perspective of conjecture. The photo shows Anushka seemingly cradling her 'baby bump' as she poses in a monochrome beige saree beside a beaming Virat Kohli, also dressed traditionally. The photo is now being circulated around the internet as 'proof' of the star couple seeing through their second pregnancy together.

This however, is far from the truth. The picture in question, is actually from Diwali of 2018. The actress had even shared a separate picture of her and Virat, dressed in the same attire, five years back. Not just this, Anushka's brother Karnesh has also shared other pictures of the couple from the intimate family celebration, confirming that the viral 'pregnancy' picture, is a hoax in terms of confirming a second child for Anushka and Virat.

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli had taken to their respective Instagram handles to share the news of their first pregnancy, back in August of 2020. The two affably shared how they were soon going to become a family of three. This was a mere three months into the actress' pregnancy before she gave birth to daughter Vamika, on January 11, 2021.

The couple however, has not confirmed a second pregnancy on any count, now further making the possibilities of the same being true, bleak.
