GOAT Song Spark Divides Thalapathy Vijay's Fans, Actor's De-aged Look And Music Panned

Thalapathy Vijay is all set for his upcoming release The Greatest of All Time (GOAT). Filmmaker Venkat Prabhu who has helmed films including Mankath and Maanaadu, is collaborating once again with the Tamil superstar. While the anticipation for the Vijay starrer is high, a recent update left fans disappointed.

Thalapathy Vijay faces backlash for GOAT look

A new song called Spark which has been released recently from the film is facing backlash from netizens due to Thalapathy Vijay’s de-aged look. Even the song and lyrics are garnering trolls due to their dated nature. The song has been picturised between Meenakshi Chaudhary and Thalapathy Vijay. The makers used a single shot dance portion from the song in the lyrical video.

Yuvan Shankar Raja, the composer, himself sang the song and used familiar beats. On the other hand, Thalapathy Vijay's looks are getting trolled too.

Several netizens shared memes while a few supported his de-aged look. One user wrote, “#GreatestOfAllTime#GOAT My reaction to Thalapathy Vijay salt and Vijay pepper look. De-aging look."

Another user wrote, “Dear #ThalapathyViiay fans, first time seeing more negativity towards yr own idol film. Whats the problem.@thisisys music is totally different from #Anirudh try to adapt to it. First single is fine till now #Goat3rdSingle still critizing him."

The Greatest of All Time is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language science fiction action film directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by AGS Entertainment. It stars Meenakshi Chaudhary, Malvika Sharma, Prabhudeva and Sudeep.

The makers haven’t revealed much about the story, but the reports suggest that it is a sc-fi thriller with Vijay playing double roles of the father and the son. GOAT is all set to release in theatres on September 5, 2024.
