Recently, the branch of the restaurant landed in legal trouble for being open after permissible hours.

One8 Commune's Bengaluru outlet is located on the sixth floor of Ratnam's Complex, which is close to the famous M. Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium, the home venue of the IPL's Royal Challengers Bengaluru, a franchise Virat Kohli has been a part of since it's inception. The outlet has a stunning view of Cubbon Park and the Chinnaswamy Stadium. The restaurant offers a modern and sophisticated setting in a two-floor setup.
One8 Commune Bengaluru is adorned with the cricketer’s signature on one of the walls. The setting offers a fine dining experience with a splash of beige, pink and hues. The diner overlooks the skyline of Bengaluru promising a well-spent time. The menu of the restaurant offers a selection of Virat’s favourite dishes including a super food salad, tartar topped on avocado and mushroom googly dim sums. The menu offers a diverse range of cuisine from continental to pan-Asian delicacies. As per the official page of the establishment, “It’s comforting bar food – the kind that goes well with a night of low-key drinking with the boys.”
More about One8 Commune
The restaurant chain came after the right-handed batsman launched an aeithlseiure brand One8 in association with his brand Puma. Based on his jersey number 18, Virat Kohli launched his One8 brand, which carries lines of athletic wear, apparel, footwear, and fitness accessories. Talking about the brand to Forbes, the managing director of Puma, Abishek Gangualy said, “By the time he (Virat Kohli) retires, this will be a ₹4,000-crore brand.”
Why is Virat Kohli’s restaurant in trouble?
As per the DCP Central, the Bengaluru Police filed an FIR against the One8 Commune pub on MG Road. Several other establishments were also seen operating beyond the time limit, and a case has been filed against those places as well.
We have booked around 3-4 pubs for running late till 1:30 am last night. We received complaints of loud music being played. Pubs were allowed to remain open only till 1 am and not beyond that," the DCP Central said.
In Bengaluru, bars are allowed to serve patrons until one in the morning; after that, they are expected to close. However, they were discovered to have broken the rules, and thus they were sanctioned.
