Karwa Chauth 2024 was celebrated on October 20. Several celebrities dressed to the nines and observed a fast for the long and healthy lives of their partners. Among all, the day was even more special for actresses who were celebrating the festival for the first time. Rakul Preet Singh, Kriti Kharbanda and Sonakshi Sinha were among the actresses who celebrated the day for the first time this year.

On October 20, Kriti Kharbanda took to her Instagram account to share a series of photos from her Karwa Chauth celebration. The actress shared the photos with a long note expression how she has always been fascinated by the festival and desired to celebrate it herself. Kriti donned a golden saree for the day and posed candidly with her husband Pulkit Samrat. 

The actress shared the photos with the caption, “Celebrating the 1st of every festival in the first year of marriage has been a tradition in every family for as long as I can remember. Karwachauth being one of them. Every karwachauth, i would sit behind my mother, watch her perform the aarti, look at Chanda mama and then at papa from across the channi , dress up and apply mehendi. I’d also wake up for the sargi. I found it fascinating! All that while thinking to myself, I want this,For me. So today, I tick one more thing off my bucket list. The 10 year old me is shy and blushing! He’s good looking also, now that’s the cherry on top!” She also added, “P.S. Being married (to the right person) was also on my bucket list :) and I’m happy to announce, it’s going splendidly” Kriti Kharbanda tied the knot with Pulkit Samrat on March 15.

Rakul Preet Singh-Jackky Bhagnani celebrate lowkey Karwa Chauth 

Rakul Preet Singh and Jackky Bhagnani got married in February this year. The actress took to her Instagram account to share glimpses of her Karwa Chauth celebration. She added a set of romantic photos with her husband, Jackky Bhagnani. Both wore matching red outfits, and Rakul's sweet caption read, "My sun, moon, universe, my everything... happy Karwa Chauth from us to you."

The actress donned a waistband signifying that she is not well. Earlier in the day, Rakul had shared an Instagram story with the caption, “bed rest wala Karwa Chauth”. While the reason for the same is not known, it seems Rakul is not in the pink of her health. 

Zaheer Iqbal fasts for Sonakshi Sinha on Karwa Chauth 

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are also a new couple on the block. On October 20, the Dabangg fame took to her Instagram account to share a hilarious candid video of herself with her husband. In the video, she could be heard saying that she feels hungry owing to the fast and asks her husband if he is hungry too. 
 

Zaheer informs her that he is also fasting for the festival. When Sonakshi asks the reason for the same, the actor hilariously replies that she would have ‘killed’ him if she saw him eat while she was fasting. The actress shared the video with the caption, “Find a pati who won't let you starve alone… whatever his reason may be. Happy Karwa Chauth… our first” The couple got married in an intimate ceremony on June 23.
