Radhika Merchant Looks Splendid In First Look As Ambani Bahu For Her Shubh Aashirwad Ceremony

Radhika Merchant has made her first appearance as an Ambani bahu. She tied the knot with Billionaire Mukesh Ambani's youngest son Anant Ambani in a star-studded ceremony on July 12. Following their nuptials, the family has hosted a Shubh Aashirwad ceremony for the couple.

Radhika Merchant opted for a hand-painted lehenga for her first look as the Ambani bahu. The daughter of industrialist Viren Merchant donned a pink colour lehenga which featured art by Feminist artist Jayasri Burman. The couture was adorned with motifs of flora and fauna to signify the new bride's penchant for the same. 

The human figures printed on the lehenga are a representation of the happy couple. The fauna depicts Anant's fondness for animals, particularly elephants that are considered auspicious and beautiful. As per Rhea Kapoor, who styled the bride on her big day, “To bring Jayasri’s painting to life, the lehenga’s 12 panels are hand-painted on a special Italian canvas. Featuring Jayasri’s quintessential mythical aesthetic, the garment celebrates Anant’s union with Radhika through deeply meaningful imagery. The human figures representing the happy couple radiate a celestial aura that honours the divinity in their humanity. The fauna depicts Anant’s fondness for animals, particularly elephants that are considered auspicious and beautiful.” Talking more about the lehenga, she wrote, "The craftsmanship features meticulous hand embroidery of real gold Zardozi. A glittering sea of sequins shines over the most intricate spaces of Jayasri’s art. It is paired with a blouse hand-embroidered entirely in Resham by master craftsmen at Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla."

The dress code for the event is Indian formal and is taking place at the Jio World Convention Centre.
