Renowned Kolkata Singer Sandeep Vyas Known For 'Mit Jaaye' Song Passes Away
Also a DJ by profession, Sandeep won the hearts of thousands of spectators in India's first T20I match held at Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium against Australia.

Kolkata: In a tragic news, Mumbai-based, Kolkata-born singer Sandeep Vyas, whose music mesmerised many in the City of Joy and beyond, passed away on Wednesday evening. Also a DJ by profession, the 50-year-old Sandeep won the hearts of thousands of spectators in India's first T20I match held at Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium against Australia. Sandeep was well-known for his versatility, singing wide range of numbers from Bollywood, Bhangra, English to Indi pop. Sandeep, along with his brother Sanjeev, had composed, written and sang the popular Bollywood number ‘Mit Jaye’ for Sanjay Gadhvi's film Kidnap starring Imran Khan.
In a tweet announcing the tragic news of Sandeep's sudden demise, local daily Telegraph wrote, “Calcutta-based singer Sandeep Vyas, whose smooth voice and energetic performance made him the heart of many a party in Calcutta and beyond, passed away earlier this evening. Thank you for the music, Sandeep! Rest in peace.”

Sandeep is said to have performed in as many as 45 cities across the world. In an interview to Telegraph in 2021, Vyas said that he was living his dream as a singer. He said that he "felt blessed" as he was doing what he wanted to for all his life.
Sandeep and his brother Sanjeev have performed in several corporate and private events. Sandeep was also awarded with the best live Singer/Performer award. He is survived by his wife Sanaya and two children Samara and Nirvhan. The cremation took place at Kolkata's Keoratala at 1 pm on Thursday.
