Rita Ora Gets Teary-eyed As She Remembers Liam Payne At MTV Europe Music Awards: He Was My World

Liam Payne, former One Direction singer, died on October 16 in Argentina. It was reported that he died by suicide as he fell from third floor of a hotel balcony in Bues Aires. However, recently police, who were investigating his death, ruled out suicide as cause of his death. Days after his death, British singer-songwriter Rita Ora paid an emotional tribute to Payne.

While hosting MTV Europe Music Awards 2024 on Sunday, Rita Ora got teary-eyed as she remembered Payne, Us Weekly. She said, "Just want to take a moment to remember someone that was very, very dear to us. We lost him recently and he was a big part of MTV world, and my world, and I think a lot of yours at home and everybody in here tonight," Ora spoke into mic during ceremony, which was std at Co-op Live in Manchester, England. For unversed, Rita Ora and Payne shared a great bond.

She described Liam Payne as "one of kindest people" she knew and ded "re were so many ways that we were talking about houring him and I think sometimes, just simply speaking, is eugh. He h biggest heart and was always first person to offer help in any way that he could."

As crowd cheered Ora on, she n threw to MTV's video tribute to Payne. "Let's just take a moment to remember our friend, Liam," Ora directed. TV network n aired a short mont of black and white photos of Payne with words, "MTV Remembers Liam Payne 1993-2024," posted as an introduction.
