Spiritual leader Jaya Kishori's latest spotting at the airport has raised eyebrows. Kishori, who sings bhajan and preaches to her followers to lead an ascetic and non-materialistic life, was snapped with an ultra-expensive bag from a luxury label. This led to many on social media calling her out for the duality of her own life. Many commented that spiritual leaders should "practice what they preach".

The 29-year-old preacher was seen carrying the custom Dior tote bag at an airport recently. A similar accessory has also been seen around the arms of celebs like Priyanka Chopra and Jennifer Lopez, to name a few. Soon after pictures of Kishori circulated on social media, people wondered if she even believed in her teachings on non-materialism and detachment.

During the outing, she was snapped in a white, flowy dress. While her out was plain, it was her Dior bag that attracted eyeballs. Reportedly, Kishori, who had shared the clip herself, took it down after the backlash. On X, a user wrote, " I hope Sanatan board will take stringent actions on her and many more like her (sic)." Another one commented, "Jaya Kishori advises people to avoid materialism, yet she herself carries a luxury bag worth over Rs. 2 lacs."

After her choice of luxury handbag invited criticism, Jaya reposted an Instagram post which read, "Before you argue with someone, ask yourself, "is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of different perspectives? If not there is no point to argue."

It is being viewed as her response to the brewing controversy. The post was originally shared by the Instagram handle Synchronistic, which wrote in the caption, "Save your breath and sanity! Remember, not everyone is equipped for a battle of ideas. Some minds are impenetrable, not open-minded (sic)."
