The actress attributed part of the speculation to the private nature of her relationship with fiancé Jonathan Davino. Sweeney acknowledges that her reluctance to share details about her personal life became fodder for media drama, leading to misconceptions about her connection with Powell.

She said, "It was really hard on Glen, which made me sad… because [otherwise] it was such a beautiful experience for the both of us. I care for him so much," she tells the outlet."

She added, "Also, I’ve never really shared that much [about my relationship], so the press loves to create drama in stories."
