A docuseries on AP Dhillon, the renowned Indo-Canadian singer and rapper, was announced recently. Titled AP Dhillon: First of a Kind, the show aims to delve deep into Dhillon’s life and shed light on how the success of his label, Run-Up Records, catapulted him. The four-part series is produced by PASSION Pictures in association with Wild Sheep Content and Run-Up Records.

Intimate portrait of AP Dhillon's musical odyssey

In a recent social media post, Amazon Prime Video teased the docuseries by emphasizing that it would finally unveil the enigmatic aspects of Dhillon's life and struggles. The unscripted Amazon Original series is slated to premiere on August 18 in India and over 240 countries worldwide, offering viewers an unfiltered and authentic glimpse into the life of this musical prodigy.

In another video shared by AP Dhillon himself, he recounted his emotional last night in India before he embarked on the life-altering journey to Canada. He expressed his hope that the docuseries would shed light not only on his own story but on the shared struggles of a whole generation of immigrants seeking a better future in a new world, battling cultural differences, language barriers, and financial hardships.

Directed by Jay Ahmed, the docuseries will chronicle AP Dhillon's journey, from his days in Gurdaspur, a small village in Punjab, to his meteoric rise to fame in the music industry. Aparna Purohit, the head of India Originals at Prime Video, expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming docuseries.
